So last week I was invited to Tappas Night at the Sea Horse Grill at the Montego Bay Yacht Club for a pre-Restaurant Week outing. I must say…it was quite the experience. Let me apologize quickly for not taking any pictures to show you just how beautifully set up the evening was and how amazing the food looked. I got so lost in the moment and so confused when I saw all the damn food lol. That mixed with a few glasses of wine just left me on cloud 9. I just placed my camera on a chair and it stayed there all night lol. Next time will be different, I promise (I think I’ll have less wine lol).
Being able to experience several different dishes all in one sitting doesn’t come often, and man o’ man I certainly used the opportunity to dig in. A table lay decorated with an array of small dishes such as marlin salsa, grilled fish kebabs covered in a mushroom glaze, spicy garlic shrimp, roasted broccoli served with chorizo and walnuts, roasted pepper salad, and hummus with pita bread. FUN FACT: I’m a Pescatarian (5/6 years and counting). So basically I maintain a vegetarian diet with the addition of fish and other seafood’s such as shrimp.
Okay! Back to the food!!! My fave dish of the night—smoked marlin salsa which had just the right kick leaving my senses completely awake! There were tons of other dishes being offered that night but I really only remember the ones mentioned because…well—I don’t eat steak, chicken or pork. So I guess I didn’t notice them much (covers face…yeah I will definitely take pics next time).
I think I can speak on behalf of myself and the other invited guests that night…we were all in FOOD HEAVEN!!! It was pretty obvious too…myself and several others helped ourselves to seconds, thirds and even forth servings! Or maybe it was all that wine causing us to eat so much. Who knows lol. What I do know however, is that I am even more eager for November 13th to get here, because I am so ready for Restaurant Week 2015!!!
There are some obvious clothing pieces that everyone should own, like a white-tee, little black dress, denim pants and even a blazer. But when it comes to style essentials, there are a few less obvious choices that you may have missed—like a black jumpsuit. If you don’t have one yet then perhaps you should think about investing in one now.
I seriously think you can wear a solid color jumpsuit just about anywhere by doing something as simple as changing your shoes and your outerwear. Plus, how can there be anything better than an all in one outfit? I mean you don’t have to fuss about matching your separates and when you don’t have the energy to put an entire outfit together but want to look styled, just pull on a black jumpsuit and viola…you now have an easy, no fuss, but very chic outfit. The outfit is always comfortable, airy, and it can adapt to any occasion and event (work, chilling with your bestie, going out, cocktails and of course to DINNER!). So for my outing with the Restaurant Week Team I went with a black jumpsuit which I styled minimally-not too much jewelry, barely there heels and red lipstick for an added wow factor.
