It’s about Progress not Perfection
So here I am aimlessly typing in my bed at 3 in the morning with the thoughts in my mind running wild. I think we all occasionally feel like things in our life aren’t amazing or where you hope for it to be. Instead life is just okay. Well, if you read my last post then you would know this is how I’ve been feeling ever since the very first day of 2017. So what’s on my mind tonight…well, I’m ready to get back in shape! & NO, not to lose weight, just for my overall health and well being.
To be honest, life felt chaotic for the last few months of 2016, and somehow it got even worst at the start of 2017. Last year, I got married in Florida, returned to Jamaica for the biggest photoshoot of my life and played mass in Jamaica Carnival. Mix this all up with some more traveling and constantly being away from home. Plus, there was my everyday job working in real estate and trying to manage this blog. Did I mention that I also had toe surgery? Yes, I did a minor operation on my toe due to a previous accident and I was unable to wear heels for 2 months! #OhTheHorror
To be clear, I’m actually not complaining about being busy. Instead I’m showing you all the excuses I came up with just not to work out. I constantly kept telling myself how much things I had on my plate leaving no time at all for exercise. I fell out of alignment, lost total control of my life, my time and my goals and as a result, I failed sticking to a good workout routine. Well the time is NOW! New schedule, new goals.
Let’s Back Track a bit…
I embarked on my fitness journey at the beginning of 2016 because I was getting married that March and right after that I also had a major photoshoot, followed by Jamaica Carnival. I wanted my body to look its absolute best and these events were all motivating factors to help keep me on my fitness journey.
After it was all over, so was my workout! Between the months of April 2016 and January 2017, I completely stopped working out—UNTIL NOW! After long battling with my laziness and excuses, I finally decided to hit the GYM! *claps claps*. So here I am once again, kick starting another fitness journey.
For the remainder of the year I will be pushing myself to workout at least 3 days a week. Yes just 3! Three days a week may not seem like much but I want to start by setting a realistic goal. This will help my workout goals seem more attainable for me because the idea of working out everyday just isn’t practical for me.
Though I am not beating myself up too badly about my body, I do hope to get toned and defined once more. Being fit is a long road, and this time around I will not be doing it just for a specific occasion but for ME!
I genuinely feel like a fitness or health journey is all about having the right balance. I must admit I’m still trying to find that balance, but hey, I’m trying and I want you to try too! Just as I am trying to be a healthier and happier person, I also want you to realize that you’re beautiful, incredible and you too can attempt to change some habits to create a better version of yourself.
My fitness journey will be a never ending series but I’m confident and hopeful to find something that works for me and what makes me happy. If I can do it, so can you and I would love a little company so comment below if you too are on fitness journey. Oh & just to be clear, I am in no way a health or fitness expert. But I do believe in learning from one another and this is why I have decided to share so much with you. What works for me, may not work for you but I’m willing to still share what works for me and what does not. I hope you guys enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed sharing. If I’m able to somehow inspire even one person, then thats fulfilling enough to me. Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥
