Tropic Isle Living ¦ Skin Care – Bath & Body Review

Hi Hi Hi! For those of you who don’t know, I have sensitive skin. For that reason I’ve been trying to switch over pretty much all my products to more natural and organic ones. If you are a regular reader of my blog then you may remember that I recently did a review on a few of Tropic Isle Living’s hair products (see here). And because I really liked their products and found them to be pretty affordable I couldn’t resist to do a second review on a few of their bath and body products.

For the last two months I’ve been trying out the Tropic Isle Living bath & body products to see how my skin reacts to it and the results have been great. I really appreciate how Tropic Isle Living not only prides themselves on staying 100% natural with their ingredients but also with the natural, earthy packaging of their products. The products themselves smell fantastic too and the prices are also pretty reasonable. Plus they always have some sort of promotion from time to time which makes the prices even more tempting. #SCORE

Ginger Bush Bath & Island Spice Shower Gel

The Tropic Isle Living Shower Gel is a 100% natural product that is free of ALL chemicals and is suited for my fellow vegans and vegetarians. The shower gel lathers up well without needing too much so you don’t need to use half the bottle for one wash (don’t you just hate that?). It’s soap free yet it has the ability to cleanse my skin without leaving behind any residue or leaving my skin overly squeaky clean. Instead my skin feels hydrated and moisturized which I believe has much to do with the amazing oils jam packed in these shower gels.

Ginger Bush Bath Shower Gel

So the first gel I tried out was the Ginger Bush Bath Shower Gel and it won me over just by the scent! Its a relaxing shower gel that is perfect if you’re feeling a little run down or achy. But the SCENT!!! YES YES YES. I absolutely adore the scent of this because it’s somehow both calming and invigorating! Plus it’s refreshing aroma lingers in the air long after I’ve showered. I love using it in the mornings or after I workout to help wake me up and relax my muscles a bit. After every use I look forward to using it again and again! It does not lather as much as I would like but I always feel clean and rejuvenated after I use it.

Island Spice Bush Bath Shower Gel

If you’re from the Caribbean then you’ll definitely be able to relate fully to the scent of this shower gel. The first time I used the island spice shower gel, the warm, spicy scents immediately brought Caribbean vibes into my bathing experience. Though I liked how soothed my skin felt after showering I didn’t enjoy using this shower gel as much as the ginger bush bath mainly because of the scent. I love cooking with spices but I don’t typically want to smell like pimento after I shower. The scent was just a tad bit too overpowering for me.

Tropic Isle Living definitely nailed it with this rich, moisturizing Khus Khus body butter. The name brought me back to my childhood when the Khus Khus fragrance was being used in everyone’s favorite perfumes. I was super excited to to be brought back in time by the scent of this body butter but unfortunately it didn’t quite have the Khus Khus scent I expected. Instead it smelled more like cocoa butter, which I didn’t mind but I was looking forward to a Khus Khus fragrance.

The scent overall was not too strong and its buttery scent blended harmoniously with the skin nourishing purpose of the butter. And nourish it does! Because the body butter is so thick and rich I use it after my nightly shower to give myself and my skin an extra special treat. The only downside to this body butter is it’s thick consistency. It’s so thick you have to scoop it out with a fingernail just to get it out of the jar. Nonetheless it softens in your hands and glides effortlessly onto the skin once applied.

If you like slightly unusual scents in your skincare, I highly recommend trying out these Tropic Isle Living bath & body products. Overall, I think that the shower gels are a great accompaniment to the body butter. It helps the scent to last longer throughout the day and together they leave the skin feeling smooth, clean, fresh and smelling great.

If you’ve ever tried any of these shower gels please leave a comment below sharing your favorite. Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥

Wow. I’d like to try that ginger one 🙂 Do you know if it’s in stores in Kingston?

I don’t know which stores carry it in KGN, but you can always check Earth Elements and Fontana.

Thinking of trying out the ginger body wash. A friend recently told me whenever she uses that body wash her room smells like ginger ale and I love that scent. A little weird I think but I like unusual scents too.
