Happy Hump Day StyleLeeders! Does anyone else feel like the days are still getting hotter?! Well, it’s progressively getting warmer and warmer in Jamaica and it’s causing me to ditch everything for looser fitting clothing. Helpppppp! At this point in the summer I’d much rather be naked than think of going outside in any outfit involving pants. Sadly going naked is not so much of an option for me so I’ve been opting for the next best thing in my closet—easy breezy summer dresses.
Every summer there are a few fashion pieces that repeats itself time and time again— bikinis, denim shorts, sandals, and summer dresses. I personally love summer dresses because they typically are a looser fit garment that offers me an easy breezy feel. Whew, what a relief. Plus summer dresses are also awesome because of it’s versatility. It can take you from the beach to dinner by simply switching from flat sandals to a pair of heels for a dressier touch. #WINNING
If I had to take a guess this dress is 9 years old! Crazy right? I got it on a weekend trip to Kingston with my mom when we visited Kerry’s Man, Woman, Home Boutique. So I wore this ‘vintage’ dress recently and it saved me from the dreadful heat. I must admit I was still sweating throughout the day but the lightweight feel of the dress definitely helped me withstand the summer heat.
When I put this dress on I spent a few minutes trying to decide whether I should wear a necklace or not. Instead I decided to ditch the necklace and I opted for minimal jewelry. The dress has a beautiful floral embroidery detail around the neckline that I wanted to remain the focus of the dress. I paired my summer dress with tan chunky heel-sandals and a matching tan bag. To top it all off I popped on my new favorite summer lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury in a beautiful coral tone.
Do you happen to have any pieces in your closet over 5 years old? Oh and how do you cope in the summer heat? Let me know in the comments below. Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥
