Hey loves, so I’m onto the second event of Style Week Jamaica, ‘International Mecca of Style,’ where all the fashionistas were out in full force, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Saint International’s modelling stars, Kai Newman and Tami Williams who were recently in American Vogue.
Now I think its just to say that everyone knows Jamaica for it’s natural beauty and quite frankly it takes quite a bit of time to take it all in, but many fail to realize that we still have so much more to offer. There is so much culture in our country and often times I find that people miss out on this aspect of Jamaica. I was so happy when I found out the Style Week team chose a location like the National Gallery (possibly the oldest & largest public museum in the Caribbean) to host one of their events. The event was fabulous and they were able to capture a unique cultural and social space like the National Gallery and incorporate a major fashion show. The catwalk navigated from the proverbial rafters to the ground floor and then between the large collection of artifacts, paintings and sculptures dispersed throughout the gallery. The models floated along the runway wearing designs just as beautiful and colorful as the paintings hanging on the Gallery’s interior.
It was a formal event so I wanted my outfit to look classy but also fitted, so I went with the all time classic little black dress. In my opinion you can never go wrong wearing a ‘LBD’ because there will always be a style suitable for any event. My outfit was classy and understated as opposed to flashy and statement oriented…tie that in with a bit of humor & confidence and hunny we have ourselves a winner! Lastly, I dialed up the glamor by accessorizing with matching black sandals and a black, elegant mini-sized satchel and a statement necklace with gold detailing.
See you tomorrow my StyleLeeders!!! Nuff Love, Natasha ♥
