Style Week Jamaica- Fashion Block

Pastel Blue Ootd- @natashaleedsHey loves, Happy first day of the week! Today marks the end of my recap of Style Week Jamaica, and by now you should know that I’m going to be talking about the internationally acclaimed event, Fashion Block! The grande finale that unfolded in the middle of one of the capitals busiest streets, and to top it all off it was free to the public so they too could get in on the Style Week activities.

Now in contrast to the first events which were more formal, more uptight, more pretentious and had a more affluent audience, Fashion block, showed the energetic and less serious side to Jamaica’s fashion scene. It allowed for the perfect fusion of music and fashion, thanks to an exciting emcee, and a DJ who spun all the hit tracks from dance hall, pop, edm and rap. An atmosphere was created on the runway which can’t possibly be duplicated anywhere else in the world.

For my look I wanted something that perfectly merged casual street style with cocktail hour femininity, so I went with pastel blue palazzo pants. Wide, flowing and incredibly comfortable pants in a color that would not remain unnoticed! SCORE!!! Oh! it also made my short legs look incredibly long!!! Double SCORE!!! Now I’m all about balance when it comes onto styling, and because the pants are so wide on the bottom I stayed fitted and short up top to showoff my waist and highlight the angle at which the pants flare out. I played with texture by going with a lacey bandeau bralet and layered a lightweight coat on-top, so my upper body wouldn’t be too bare.

I’m all about faking my height, especially when at a fashion show where the girls are towering over the MEN! So the final ingredient to my look was all in the shoes. I wanted some lift to counter the fullness of the pants to help me look taller and leaner, so I went with my chunky heel mules which fit in perfectly with the casual, bohemian vibe of the outfit.

Thank you for sticking it through with me over the past couple of days & no worries I promise to give you hair posts this week! In the meantime let me know your thoughts on this outfit in the comment section below and I’ll see you very very soon. Nuff love, Natasha ♥

I love you not because you have a great sense of style but because you know just how to give your outfits definition. Looking at this i know definitely that not everyone wouldve been able to pull off such an “A class” look that simply would make others want to try it. And importantly, it’s always effortlessly done. #SlayEverytime!!!
