REVIEW ¦ Nivea Aqua Sensation Anti-Shadow Eye Cream

Hi Hi Hi!

So I’ve been on the hunt for a perfect eye cream and I’ve finally finished the entire jar of the Nivea Visage Aqua Sensation Anti-Shadow Eye Cream. It was recommended to me by the lovely sales associate at the beauty counter and she sure did sell the heck out of this product to me. She had me sold when she raved and raved about the dramatic difference in the dark circles around her eyes after using this product. I’m a late sleeper so I often wake up with tired eyes. So obviously once I heard that this eye cream quickly eliminates signs of tiredness I pulled out my purse and went straight to the cashier!

Product claims: ‘reduce signs of tiredness, the appearance of facial wrinkles, dark circle & puffiness leaving the delicate eye area remarkably smooth and refreshed.’

I’ve been using this eye cream for just over two months. I apply it every morning and night after cleansing and toning my face by gently dabbing the product around my eye. I’ve come to realize that the sales lady only wanted to get a sale!!! I’m not saying this is a terrible eye cream, but it didn’t perform as I hoped for. I had visions of waking up with dark free circles and an eye area that looked rested and radiant and instead I woke up as I usually do—looking like a walker/zombie from the Walking Dead.

♥ Price: fairly good in relation to the amount of product that comes in the jar

♥ Packaging: very impressed by this because it compares to many department store brands

♥ Hydration: it absorbs well into the skin leaving the area feeling moisturized

♥ No Results: After 2 entire months of using the Nivea Visage Aqua Sensation Anti-Shadow Eye Cream I saw no visible difference in under eye darkness.  This really is a pretty big issue since a part of the products name is “ANTI-SHADOW!”

Final Thoughts

I think this is a pretty nice but basic eye cream. The product didn’t exactly meet my expectations but typically when picking an eye cream I always look for one that will at least hydrate the skin around my eyes. Plus, I must admit my dark circles are really caused by my sleepless nights. Once I do get some well needed rest the dark circles fade. That said, this eye cream did leave my eye area feeling hydrated and refreshed. It wore well under my makeup and whenever I woke up the next morning my under eye area did feel moisturized.

All in all I was ‘semi’ satisfied with the product because of how hydrating the eye cream was. NO it did not meet the product claim of reducing dark circles, tired eyes or puffiness but it did live up to their claims of leaving the eye area feeling hydrated and smooth. One of my girlfriends actually told me recently that the Aqua Sensation range was formulated for hydration and water retention of the skin. So hey, at least I can say the product definitely did that. If you’re looking for an eye cream to reduce dark circles or anything of the sort this is NOT the eye cream for you but I totally recommend it if you’re looking for an eye cream for hydration.

I’m still on the hunt for a ‘ride or die’ eye cream, so if you have any recommendations please leave a comment below.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Frankly, and this is just my opinion, I don’t know of any eye cream that fades under eyes dark circle. I have seen on one celebrity’s instagram where she was getting injections under her eyes for her dark circles. So, that makes me wonder if there is an eye cream that really fades dark circles. I have tried few of them without any results.

Natasha I see we have some of the same issues. I am also a night owl coupled with hyperpigmentation around my eyes due to genetics I literally look like a raccoon sometimes lol. I have tried so many eye creams it is almost borderline obsessive. The only one that I have truly noticed a difference with is Estee Lauder Advanced Night repair. I use the serum and the eye cream night and day. Its a little pricey but trust me when I tell you will see results within a week.

Thanks for the tip Camille. Gonna check out the Estee prices and check out reviews too. Hopefully they have a sample or travel sized version so I can start with that

I would say try the Origin Ginzing eye cream or the clinique pep start
