I’m totally taking it back to the 90’s. I’ve always been a fan of anything cropped because it’s perfect for the year-round warm temperatures in Jamaica. More recently however, I’ve noticed a wave of women sporting these short tops in fresh and innovative ways as the spring-summer months commence. I uber happy for this, I mean I wear cropped tops so often that I sometimes wear them to bed (LOL mostly because I get so hot some nights haha) where was I? right the cropped sweater… I’m all for this trend for the upcoming months because I think it’s the perfect staple piece for my ladies in the colder areas to transition from winter to spring and spring to summer. . .so for my ladies who are tired of this awful winter and exhausted of wearing the same old over sized sweater, then I suggest you scroll through for a bit of inspiration.
BTW: It’s already scorching hot here in Jamaica, so there will be no layering of clothing on my end, but you can take my look and use it as your inspiration to make it more cold weather appropriate. If you are still struggling with colder temperature then I’d suggest sticking to crop tops that fall close to your waistline (just above your belly button), and longer in the back. You should definitely also stick to ones with longer sleeves, and are turtlenecked, fuzzy & warm.
I totally went for an easy street style look. Not quite sure if you could tell but I was burning up when I wore this outfit. My initial plan was to show an outfit that’s better suited for my dolls in the colder areas but I started sweating and getting all hot and bothered lol, so I had to scrap that idea (sorry). But hey you can take this look and make it more spring appropriate by wearing a fitted tank underneath for a more laid back look, or if you want to look a bit more polished and put together then opt for a snug button up shirt beneath.
I’m wearing a cropped sweater from Slang Teez and paired it with my Guess Jeans (similar HERE), and super comfy but still very chic heels from Payless (similar HERE or HERE). See you tomorrow, where I’ll be showing you Part 2 of how I style a cropped sweater. Nuff Love Natasha ♥
