Hello! Hello! As of late, I feel like everywhere I turn I’m reminded of pastels in one way or another. As I pass the bakery section in the supermarket I glance over and see cupcakes covered with pastel icing on top, I drive by the man at the stop light trying to sell pastel colored cotton candy to people as they wait for the light to go green and every single time I look to the sky I’m greeted by calming pastel blues. Not to mention the countless beautiful pastel editorials and pieces I’ve recently seen. YES! YES! YES! Isn’t it obvious how much my surroundings play into my outfit choices haha…Relaxing pastel hues are my everything this Spring—it’s so light, easy, sweet and ultra feminine and the light hues can help to achieve a stylish and polished look.
Now if you happen to be a romantic you will absolutely love this soft, ethereal periwinkle-monochromatic outfit. But if you aren’t the mushy type or a girly-girl, then perhaps you may have a sweet tooth like myself, then you too will love my choice of delicious pastel blue shades that’s covering me from head to toe. I personally think it’s a very simple outfit, but because I opted to stick with one shade all over the look is so statement-making.
Okay, so when it comes on to pastel fashion I do agree that less is more because no one wants to look like the Easter bunny (or may be you might lol), but when I first received this pastel blue lace skirt from Tobi I thought it was so breathtakingly beautiful and immediately knew I wanted to make a statement with it. You all should know by now that I am ‘Miss Matchy-Matchy’ so I took on the challenge and picked a single pastel shade for my entire outfit and I think the end result was quite amazing. Best of all, wearing any shade head to toe slims down and elongates your silhouette—#SCORE. My outfit worked because I played with textures to create a bit of added interest and jazzed up the look by going for a sequin cross-body bag.
Now listen my love bugs, if you are uncomfortable rocking pastels from head to toe, but you desire to be a part of whats trending, you may try adding small hints of pastel to your look by sticking to chic accessories and bags in pastel tones. Or you can wear a pastel nail polish as a way to subtly rock try this trend—it’s all up to you. So to my dolls & gents what do you think of pastels for the spring-summer months?
