I’ve already mentioned in previous posts that my summer uniform has been off-the-shoulder anything! It’s a silhouette that I think will go beyond summer because I have zero plans to stop wearing them. But I think I figured out what the ultimate summer vacation look is, and no it’s not an all white outfit! Off-the-shoulder! Stripes! Nautical Tones!
Let me break it down! An off-the-shoulder top, dress, romper you name it, frames one of the most feminine parts of the woman’s body—the shoulders and décolletage. Plus it’s also such a great way to show some skin in the summer without being scantily dressed. Nautical tones like blue & white on the other hand is a color combo that I think looks amazing on everyone all year round, but it especially makes a statement during the summer months. Where am I getting at??? Well, I’ve found a one-and-done piece for your next vacation! You literally just need your heels (or sandals) and your outfit is pretty much complete. It makes me feel like I need to take another vacation ASAP!
As much as we all would love for summer to last forever, it unfortunately will come to an end sooner rather than later. But before it does, I wanted to share what I think is the ultimate summer vacation outfit of your dreams. The best part, it’s from one of my favorite Jamaican designers, Jami James of YC Clothing. I got this shorter than your average romper a few weeks ago and the minute I laid my eyes on it I felt like I needed to run off to somewhere exotic like GREECE! Too bad I had no such travel plans on the horizon but luckily for me, like Greece I live on island where many people vacation—Jamaica! So I wore my vacay outfit to the yacht club for lunch with a few of my gal pals.
Whenever I wear stripes, I almost always opt for a pop of color. I either brighten up my look with a bold lip or I wear a statement shoe. This time around I did things a little differently and went with both a muted lip and shoe. To complete my look I wore my white fringed earring from another Jamaican designer of Mema Designs.
And omg I think it’s time for the faux locs to go! I really have enjoyed wearing them but I’m beginning to miss my curly fro. I’m trying to go one more week wearing them but my scalp is also starting to itch and I can’t quite figure out how to stop it!!! I’ve washed it, used curl refreshers, tried applying oils and still my scalp feels dry and itchy. So these babies have to go! What do you guys think? I do battle with eczema but I haven’t had any issues with my scalp since HIGH SCHOOL! & I’ve left high school for quite sometime now, so I’m assuming this change in my scalp must have something to do with the faux locs. I don’t know, but I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥
