Hey Hey! Happy Monday!
Yes, I’m well aware that we are literally in the heat of summer and I’m wearing Falls number one color choice—burgundy. But hey, why not give a second chance to our favorite Fall color by wearing it in another season?! We shouldn’t limit ourselves to wearing burgundy hues only in the Fall/Winter months. So leave it up to me to leave home in a head-to-toe burgundy outfit, looking like a glass of red wine in the middle of summer.
Initially I wasn’t entirely sure how mixing a deep red like burgundy with bright orange would work. Nonetheless, I deicded to go with my gut and explore this color combination myself. When I put the look together I felt like it was all too matchy-matchy and it needed something in the mix to help make things more interesting. Enter this bright orange, oversized clutch! WALA! I mean it’s still pretty matchy since there’s already hits of orange in my top, but the resulting combination of deep burgundy and bright orange is unexpectedly chic.
I got this top from a thrift store and the shorts from H&M about a year ago and I’ve worn them several times before, separately. I absolutely love these suede shorts because they add the perfect touch of texture to this look and somehow it helped to transform a simple top into a statement piece. I debated whether to finish off with heels in a neutral tone but instead ended up deciding it was “go bold or go home” and went with my bold burgundy mules I picked up from Kenneth Cole
Well…what do you think of this wine inspired, burgundy outfit? Have you recently experimented with a color scheme that surprised you by how well it worked together? If so, please do tell. Talk Soon, Natasha ♥
