Review: Barnhill Organics Skin Therapy Oil

hello, hello!

Today I’m here to tell you to take a break from using fancy lotions and instead opt for oil to moisturize your skin! I consider myself quite the moisturizer maven. I have literally tried and tested all sorts of moisturizers, ranging from lotions, body butters, body creams, you name it. I love making sure every inch of my skin is always hydrated and nourished so I’m always on the lookout for that miracle product or formula to do just that.

Do you remember hopping out of the shower, pumping lotion into your hands, rubbing it all over your skin and then hope to wake up with super hydrated skin, but you never did??? Yes, I’ve been there too. Despite all the “fancy ingredients” that many commercial brands claim to use in these body moisturizers, unfortunately many of them don’t even work that well. Guess what does work??? BODY OILS!!!

I know, I know, oils are greasy and shiny, but take my word…with the right natural oils your skin will look and feel moisturized and smooth—minus the greasy feeling.

I’ve been substituting body moisturizes with oils for a few years now. I either use the oil by itself or I’ll use it mixed with lotion. In more recent years several brands have come out with amazing all-natural body oils and I’ve been slowly getting my hands on them. But when a Jamaican based company reaches out to a fellow ‘yardie’ and offers to send them a few of their skin therapy oils to check out… “yuh done know yuh haffi accept!” If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you know I am all about supporting Jamaican businesses, so I gladly said YES!!!

Over the past two months I’ve been using Barn Hill Organics Skin Therapy Oil and I am so pleased to say that I fell in love with the product and I plan to actually go out and purchase a bottle or two very soon. It’s a lightweight, multi-purpose skin oil that promises and delivers soft and silky skin, relief for dryness and moisturizing the skin thoroughly. I think what I love most is how Barn Hill has used top-notch ingredients that are known as superstars in the moisturizing department and put them into an affordable product.

How I use: While my body is still wet, I apply this oil as soon as I get out of the shower and the blend of organic oils soaks in quickly and leaves my skin feeling quenched until I wash it off again. Yup, it’s that good!

The skin therapy oil did also promise a diminishing of stretch marks and scars. Unfortunately I did not see much of a difference where that is concerned but perhaps with prolonged use I may have. Nonetheless, I really do think this all-natural skin oil is heaven sent and well worth the buy.

YES! Another Coconut Oil has hit the market and I am absolutely proud to know it was made right here at home in Jamaica. Although I do have my tried and true Coconut Oil brands that I reach for time and time again, it never hurts to try something new. At the end of the day something like coconut oil is an amazing thing to have around your house because of it’s multi-purpose qualities. You can use it on your skin as a lightweight moisturizer (not recommended for acne-prone skin), in your hair as a deep conditioning mask and also while cooking.

Like most organic/unrefined coconut oils, this one from Barnhill Organics was no different! For my fellow Jamaicans who find it difficult to get your hands on packaged ‘all-natural’ coconut oil, I’m here just to shed light on this one by Barnhill Organics because it is sold locally and in comparison to the imported oils sold in our stores here, this one is very affordable.

You can find Barnhill Organics in Fontana Pharmacy locations. Talk Soon, Natasha ♥
