Before leaving Jamaica for Florida last month, I sat down and stared at myself in the mirror. Looking at my bare face in despair. I had slightly broken out. SIGH! I knew it was from the extreme heat over the past summer months and not so much because of the products I was using. But I still felt the need to still switch up my skincare routine. Like many women, I am always on the hunt for the next best thing for my skin. So I decided while in Florida, I would do a little damage to my pocket by splurging a bit on new skincare products.
Over the next few months and to the ending of the year I’m hopeful that some of these will stay and become a part of my permanent routine. At the same time I know that once some run out they also may never come back into my life again. These are the newbies that currently hold a front-row seat on my bathroom counter. If you’re sitting comfortably, I’ll do a quick run down of the things I recently purchased for my skin. Let’s take a look, shall we?!
Skincare Beauty Haul
In the heat and humidity of Jamaica I struggle trying to stay shine free. There’s a big difference between looking dewy and looking like grease! So I picked up this inexpensive oil blotting sheet from NYX. I drink 2-3 cups of green tea a day, so you know I just had to go with the green tea blotting sheet.
I like using rich and thick products as a part of my nightly routine and since I’ve tried Origins products before and liked them I decided to put this lovely little lady to the test.
Watching beauty vloggers on YouTube really pushes you to try different products. I was officially out of eye cream so I picked up this one to try as my new day time eye treatment.
I repurchase this cleanser every time it runs out because it is so gentle and works perfectly with my skin when it’s acting up.
I’ve been using my DIY Apple Cider Vinegar toner for a few years and really wanted to try something new. I have no clue why I picked this toner up but I saw it on the shelf in Target and chose it over all the other toners screaming: ‘PICK ME, PICK ME!’
Again, like most of my purchases I had heard good things about this eye cream so I picked this baby up to use in my nightly skincare routine.
I have never heard of a pre-treatment for face masks. I got this as a point perk at Sephora and I am still trying to wrap my head around this product. Apparently this ‘mask primer’ is supposed to prep and prime your skin before actually applying your face mask. Seems like an unnecessary step to me but I’ll let you know my thoughts on this product and if it’s even worth buying.
I picked up the travel size version of this moisturizer earlier in May and I fell in love. So I just had to purchase the full sized version too.
I bought these on recommendation by one of my best friends. I went into Ulta to actually pick up the Ole Henriksen Vitamin C Truth Serum and my girlfriend somehow convinced me to spend an arm and a leg on this tiny bottle of product. Fingers crossed that I didn’t make a big mistake.
I have heard nothing but amazing things about this toner so I really wanted to try it for my combination-oily skin. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.
You can’t have too many blotting sheets when you have oily skin okay. You need one for every bag or as backup!
