“It’s easier to go down a hill than up hill…
but the view is much better at the top”
What’s up beautiful people, I hope all is well. So last night I attended the Jamaica Jazz & Blues festival where I watched Mariah Carey and others perform. Although I did enjoy the event I arrived at the concert pretty late (I actually walked in as Mariah was center stage and about to start her first song).
Somehow I ended up in the hills of Montego Bay prior to the show and got completely lost in it’s beauty. I was so captivated by all the lushness that surrounded me I completely lost track of time. I felt so at peace as I breathed in the clean, light air…it was incredible. I walked all the way up to the top, via the grounds meandering paths and I seriously was experiencing a feeling of tranquility. & yes I totally walked up hill in my heels and dress and it was well worth it. On the upper terraces you could see all of Montego Bay on one side and on the other side, a fantastic mix of deep green trees, shrubs spilling over each other, local flora and there was absolutely no bare space between them. The view was spectacular and as a result I didn’t feel like leaving lol. So yeah my reason for showing up late to the show was a pretty good one. I mean nothing beats being surrounded by mother earths beauty—RIGHT? (& hey I missed most of the show but I got to see Mariah lol).
I knew for the concert I wanted to feel flowy, free and most importantly comfortable. So immediately I knew I was going to be wearing a maxi dress. Unfortunately, it has been mildly cool and windy here in Montego Bay, so wearing a tank maxi which is quite thin and sheer wouldn’t cut it for me, so of course I layered. I added my fave neon blazer from Zara (sold out) for added warmth and it came in handy when the evening got chilly.
Enjoy the post loves. ♥
