Destination Jamaica

destination-jamaica-travel-blogger-island-beach-real-estate-natashaleeds-stylishleeHey there ‘TravelLeeders!’ I’m starting today’s post off by sharing a fun fact about myself. I grew up at Doctors Cave Beach— and no I don’t mean that figuratively. My home was located right across the street from what is arguably one of the top rated beaches in the entire Caribbean. Though I’ve since moved, I still remember just how amazing it was to fall asleep hearing the sounds of the waves crashing on the shoreline. Not to mention the countless times my dad would walk my sister and I across the street to Doctors Cave Beach after school! [BTW, mom did not approve]

When you live somewhere all your life, occasionally you take its surroundings for granted. Jamaica has been my home from birth and it’s the only place I’ve ever lived. Growing up my family did a yearly, summer road trip around the island to help open my eyes to Jamaica’s culture, food, people and beauty. Because that’s what really makes Jamaica the slice of paradise that it is. A country rich in culture, surrounded by waters so blue it’s hard to believe it’s real, where everyone is treated with true island hospitality and a place you can listen to music that reminds you ‘every little thing is gonna be alright.’

From an early age I quickly realized that Jamaica was a vacation destination for just about everyone. For the ‘easy come, easy go’ bag packers seeking adventure to the luxury seeking elites who come looking for Jamaica beach rentals just to relax on the white sand beaches. Unfortunately somewhere along the line (my late teenage years) the urge to see Jamaica faded away and soon after the family road trips got lesser and lesser. Instead I shyed away from the well known spots because they were just too ‘touristy’ (as they say).

Now here I am, in my mid-20’s and I’m ready to explore my little island once more. I may have lived in Jamaica all my life, but there are still so many places I have yet to discover. I still have my favorite spots which I visit quite often but I’m ready to travel off the beaten path once more and I plan to share it all with you ♥destination-jamaica-travel-blogger-island-beach-real-estate-natashaleeds-stylishlee

Call me biased but I believe the absolute best place to take a vacation is JAMAICA! [for starters we have beach weather all year round’]

2017 is literally just around the corner! Before you know it, both Christmas and New Year will be over and it’s back to reality for the most of us. So why not opt for a little retreat? Whether you make your reservations right now or book something to look forward to down the line, there really is no better way to start the new year.

One of my biggest goals for 2017 is to travel more and I plan to start right here in my backyard. I hope to share everything from my favorite beaches and waterfalls to a little spot where you can eat the best, fresh lobster on the island. Because here in Jamaica, luxury can come in the form of a private cottage overlooking a lagoon, eating jerk chicken, exploring the markets or laying in a hammock under a palm tree. So whether you’re looking for Jamaica beach rentals, an urban oasis, an opulent villa or an under-the-radar hideaway, I plan on sharing with you the perfect spots right here in Jamaica to de-stress, relax in style, daydream, explore and have some fun. So stay tuned.

If you’re a fellow ‘yardie’ please do share some of your favourite spots in Jamaica in the comment section below. Hopefully I’ll make it there next year! Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥

Welcome to Jamaica…

An island smaller than most major cities but full of life and excitement!

This is such a beautiful and refreshing post. With all the negatives that has been happening in our country I am happy to see that it is still being praised and considered for the treasure that it truly is. Like you, traveling more is also one of my goals for 2017. There’s so much to explore and I’m ready to discover! Happy Monday Love!

Happy Monday Mama. I genuinely love JA and I’m proud to call her my home. Despite our struggles, hardships and well “the negatives” our country with this huge heart still has so much more to it. So I’m striving to hit a new spot once a month (even if it is down the road from me in Bay) P.S. I haven’t worked out in 3weeks 😩

Hey Natasha I really enjoyed this post, being a Jamaican living in New York I can get quite home sick especially around the winter time. I have been living away from home for over 2 decades and still crave home and have to go back at least once every year. My favorite place is the 7 mile beach in Negril where I am originally from. You can walk the entire beach making pit stops for “liquid refreshments” along the way or just lay out on a beach chair at a random hotel and make friends with strangers. I could go on forever about how much I love Jamaica and her people. This is one of the reasons I am such a strong supporter of you and your work you really capture the essence of Jamaica.

Hey Camille, thank you so much. I’m happy you enjoyed this post and I can totally relate to the home sick feeling. I absolutely love the 7Mile beach. I was actually in Negril last week but I was working so I never made it to the beach nor did I get any “liquid refreshments” (covers face) haha!

Yaaaaaaaaas Natasha! I was waiting for this. Been wondering when you would start sharing your travels with us. My parents are Jamaican but I’ve never been to Jamaica so I’m really excited to read about your journey around JA! Plus my girlfriends and I are planning a trip to Jamaica next summer and I need to figure out the best places to stay and the spots we can have some fun!

Yaaaaaas Michelle! Girls trip to JamRock, turn up!!! Since you’re coming in the summer aim to come during Dream Weekend or SPF weekend. I would suggest an all-inclusive resort but depending on the amount of girlfriends coming on the trip, a villa may workout to be more cost effective ❤

Hey Natasha my family and I are in jamaica which beach you suggest we go to have a really good time cause me need fun and relaxation

Hey Karen! If you’re in Montego Bay definitely go to Doctors Cave Beach on the Hip Strip. If you’re in Negril you can go to the 7 Mile Beach, but to make your life easier enter the beach via Margaritaville and then you can have fun there but also walk along the beach to check out other kool spots.
