Lacey Summer Whites

Hey StyleLeeders! I know I can’t be the only one who’s excited that it’s FRIDAY! I really don’t have much plans for the weekend except to get some much needed rest. Perhaps this extreme heat has a lot to do with this, but I have been feeling so drained as of late. That said, I’m so eager for this work day to be done and to get home, take a long shower and lay in bed all weekend long.

Speaking of the summer heat…nothing says “summer” quite like an all white outfit. White dresses, white shorts, white kimono’s or even a white graphic tee. It’s all so hot—literally! I think I’ve complained about the summer heat in every blog post over the past two months and it’s because it’s driving me insane. I’ve been trying to find alternative outfits to cope with the hot summer days and I think hair pulled back, all white, lace, sleeveless, and lots of leg action may be the answer.

For the most part an all-white ensemble always looks amazing, but they can get monotonous and boring. To help make it less boring try injecting some life into your look by wearing an outfit with subtle designs  or prints. So instead of wearing a flat white-t and white pants ensemle, why not opt for a lacey outfit like mine?

Let me address the elephant in the room before going any further. For those of you following me on SnapChat you already know the deal but for anyone else wondering, I did surgery on my toe and I’m still recovering from it. So I wore these chunky heel-sandals out to dinner with my girlfriends to a new Thai restaurant that recently opened in Montego Bay. But I had my flats in my car on stand-by just in case my damn toe gave out, which it sort of did (covers face). Now, on to what I wore…

To dinner I wore an entirely white, matching shorts-set outfit and paired it with my chunky heels and with…well my flats too lol. The detailing in my shorts-set added a bit of character to my look but I also wore a statement necklace over my buttoned-up collared shirt to create a trendier look. Am I the only one who thinks when you wear a collared shirt, the collar is always hoping to be paired with a statement necklace? This necklace in particular has a beautiful marble print on the stones and paired harmoniously with my white button-up. Talk about sophisticated-chic! To complete this look I added my cat eye-sunnies from Quay for a little oomph and a geometric print bag in pastel tones to balance the theme of the all-white look.

Who else loves to wear white in the Summer? Leave a comment below and cheers to the freak’ weekend! Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥
