It’s NEVER too Late to START Again!

I apologize for the lack of posts over the past month. As you may (or may not) know Manny lost his Mom on New Years Day and ever since then I’ve been trying to help him put the pieces back together. It’s crazy how we all look forward to the New Year with hopes of creating a brand new self and how quickly those hopes fade away after the first day or first few weeks.

Before you know it, you’re in the last week of January and you’ve made no progress. The blog posts we wanted to share are still being planned, the exercise routine we promised to start has only become a thought, the books we swore to read still have not been opened and the places we vowed to visit are still waiting on us. Well…this has pretty much been me. As I marked off each day in January I was left feeling as if the New Year’s train and all of it’s opportunities left me behind at the station.

I lost myself a bit in January. Somehow I got caught up holding onto my anger and sadness and I was carrying it with me throughout the entire first few weeks of 2017. I felt so demotivated to the point the goals that I promised myself to embark on all got placed on the back burner.

Thankfully after a bit of introspection, I’ve realized that life is just imperfect. Yes, it surely is a beautiful thing but it sure can get quite messy and complicated too. Despite the struggles I’ve gone through over the past month, I know that it is NEVER too late to start over and to spin things around for the better. I’ve had my time to hit pause, breathe, reshape and to reconnect. Now I think I’m ready to start again and to slowly ease back into the real world.

Hello February!

Any new month, new week or new day can be the beginning for another opportunity…another fresh start. It is NEVER too late to start again! So even if you ate too much ice cream while on your fitness journey don’t think you’ve failed. Instead just start again!

Though I shared my list of goals for 2017 with you (Click HERE) I’ve realized not only were my goals too extensive, but I also had far too many goals. January proved to me that I just did not have the mental and physical resources to possibly take on so many goals at once. Focus on one thing.

I said wanted to focus more on the ones I loved by spending more quality time with them. At the same time I also wanted to travel more even if it meant going some place new ‘every weekend’ right here in Jamaica (not realistic at all). Oh and the fitness journey? Yes I also said I wanted to start this too by working out 5 days a week. Wait there’s more! I also wanted to create more content for you by stepping out of my comfort zone and sharing more with you. All this, plus the loss of a loved one, balancing life as a realtor and coming off of a hectic holiday season was far too much for me to take on at once.

Trying to accomplish multiple goals at once quickly left me feeling overwhelmed and after the first week in January I completely gave up. Well here we are on the first day of February and rather than trying to play catch up with my goals for 2017 I’ve decided to stick to one thing at a time. Starting with my fitness journey ♥ Don’t worry I also plan to stay committed to StylishLee but first on my agenda is to tackle this fitness journey that I have never been able to stay on. Maybe I can also share snippets of my journey with you. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in.

For now my focus will be mostly on adapting a new lifestyle and I hope as each month goes by I’ll be able to take on another goal of mine. And if not…it is never too late to start over! If you let yourself down yesterday, then try again today and again tomorrow! Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥

    So happy to see you posting again! I didn’t realize how much your posts have become a part of my weekly routine ( along with my youtube faves). I’m inspired by this to start over as well cause girl I’ coming to Jamaica soon and I need to get it right get it tight. Happy to see you in good spirits again much love and respect to you.

    I am new to your page and this message was so inspiring. I’m sorry for the loss of your loved one and I pray your family’s comfort am peace during this time. Fitness is one of the many goals I set for myself this year (and last), and had not even begun to start until Sunday. But better late than never… It’s never too late!!!

    P.S. I noticed how flat your tummy is, any tips on how you get it to remain so flat even though you have just embarked on your fitness journey?

      Hi Anja! Happy Black History month indeed! I will definitely keep you up to date. With regards to the flat tummy, I must admit I do eat relatively well (Vegetarian). Though my weakness comes from eating cookies and cakes, in general I eat fairly well.

    I have been trying to go ona fitness journey for as long as I can remember and thinking of changing my career. There’s just something about a new year that painfully reminds you of all you said you would do and didn’t but as simplistic as it may seem you are quite right it really is never too late. Sharing bits of your journey does sound like a very good idea.

      Thank you for sharing Keziah and I can totally relate. Take things one step at a time and after completing one or two things move onto another goal. Don’t bombard yourself with trying to accomplish too many things at once. Focus on one or a few things you ‘need’ to do and then move on to the things you ‘want’ to do.
