So this outfit is honestly a tad bit too feminine for me but I was recently invited to a birthday party from a little girl I used to baby sit back in the day. Not only was I invited to her “Frozen” themed birthday party but I was also asked to dress the part of “Queen Elsa of Arendelle” from the movie. Guess what? I totally obliged!
For those of you who are totally lost and feeling out of the loop, Frozen is a children’s movie that has been all the rage for some time now. It’s a heartwarming storyline, with really funny characters, catchy music and all the magic you’d expect out of a Disney animation. Oh! & in case you’re wondering how I know so much…I happen to still love cartoons lol so I saw the movie when it came out last year in theaters….and twice more since then shhh! #DontJudge.
OK! so if you’ve actually seen the movie Frozen, then you must be wondering how in the world could she want to have a frozen, snowy and icy themed party in hot! hot! hot! Jamaica? well that was one of my first questions too, and the response….by dressing “chillingly” chic!
I love this little girl so much and really wanted to make her birthday magical so I went and reminded myself of what Queen Elsa wore throughout the movie. Lets just say, lots of sparkles and glitter covered over an icy blue gown.
Clearly I own nothing of the sort, so I knew I’d have to think of a way to revamp the look. Luckily for me I received a pastel blue dress as gift a few years ago and never got a chance to wear it and finally the perfect opportunity presented itself. My version of Elsa’s flowy, sparkling overlay is much more wearable. I went with a pleated chiffon midi dress that shared the same icy blue shade like the one Queen Elsa wore and the pearl beading around the neckline was a modern update to all the sparkle and glitter.
I wish I could share with you photos from the birthday party, but unfortunately I’ve been asked not to, which is totally understandable. right guys? So tell me your thoughts on this very feminine dress. I seriously felt like a ‘chillingly’ chic princess…talk very soon loves. Natasha ♦
