Fall Transition- How to Style Leather Skirt

how-to-wear-leather-pencil-skirt-stylishleeHelllllllo hello to all my beauties ♥ Happy Friday my loves!

For seasoned StylishLee [stylish-ly] dressed gals, the onset of Fall means: ‘A perfect excuse to go fall shopping.’ Unfortunately for those of us living in areas where it’s still HOT it’s pointless to run out and buy a cozy knit-sweater, blanket cape or a statement coat; not unless you don’t mind being a walking sauna. Now, I don’t know about you, but even though I live in a country that’s hot all year round I am ready for all things Autumn/Winter. I obviously won’t be wearing a trench-coat anytime soon, but with a little creativity, I plan to embrace the best of fall without breaking a sweat (literally). It’s all about adapting the trends.

Who else is loving leather this year for Fall? (ME!) Today’s fashion flashback is a great fall transition outfit. In the past I would have never imagined wearing leather during the day; Heat × Leather just seemed like a bad idea. Faux leather is however one of my all-time favorite staples, and I was determined to make it work. When I first laid eyes on this midi-leather skirt I knew this was the one because it looked like genuine leather but was far more affordable.

I used to be obsessed with mini-skirts but now I have adopted a much more modest length. Don’t get me wrong mini skirts will forever hold a place in my heart but at the moment I am tossing the mini because the Fall 2014 trends call for ankle grazing midi skirts. I just love how the midi skirt continues to stand the test of time and I’m sure it’s likely because of its versatility and ultra-ladylike feel.

OH! & if you’re wondering if I was toasty wearing leather in the day, I wasn’t at all, it actually felt no different from a day when I’m wearing itty-bitty jeans shorts. The skirt itself is extremely lightweight and the bold cut outs on the sides gave my legs more than enough needed air. I paired the skirt with a simple, lightweight white blouse on top to balance out the bold leather on bottom.
