Happy Friday Dolls,
If you’ve been following along on my anniversary adventures, then you may have glimpsed bits and pieces of this outfit on my snapchat (@natashaleeds). The day we bid farewell to our home away from home, and of course I had to leave with a bang! Okay, Manny and I had lunch reservations why I put in a bit of effort into my look…but do you see my golden tan!?
When I was younger I was the true essence of an island child. My sister and I LIVED in sea, leaving us behind with golden complexions and salt water hair. Obviously as I got older I learned the risks of staying in the sun for prolonged periods and so my long beach days lessoned. I actually forgot it was even possible for me to look so tanned and bronze and now that I look back at past photos I actually look pale and washed out! I don’t think I’ll be baking in the sun anytime soon, but I won’t be hiding from him either!
Right! Enough of my golden tan and onto this outfit! Exaggerated sleeves! OBSESSED! It’s flattering, feminine and oh so easy to pull off. Ever since I got this blouse I have been itching to bring it to life. I think we all should know by now how essential a white, button-down blouse is. It’s an instant classic. But a white blouse with flared sleeves is a show-stopping, power blouse because it adds a flare and pizzaz to a simple everyday outfit.
Recently, I’ve fallen in love with just about any item with this sort of flowy, sleeve because it gives off a very boho chic look, perfect for the upcoming summer days. I’ve since picked up three more pieces like this and I truly love them. They can be styled with flare pants and oversized circle glasses to give off a 70’s vibe or paired down with shorts for a more casual, beach look.
Since I was still on vacay (or should I say ‘Bae-Cay’) mode I wanted to go for a casual-cool style while still making the blouse be the statement piece. I paired my bell-sleeved top with my denim cut-offs to balance out the billowy-sleeves and added my sky blue, chunky heels to dress up the playful piece on top. If I were going to Coachella I think I would definitely be wearing an outfit similar to this (minus the chunky heels). Maybe next year…
Would you rock exaggerated sleeves like this? Let me know down below. Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥
