Hey StyleLeeders! I’ve been on a whim to wear as many of my older pieces of clothing ever since I realized my fave dress from college days started to fray. “Ohhh the HORROR!” I donate clothing to women in need a few times per year but there are some pieces I hold on to for dear life. Well, after putting on a dress and watching the ends unravel more and more with every step I took, I decided to start wearing my older pieces again before something similar happened to them. Plus, sometimes the best looks come from repeating something that was good and turning it into something great by switching it up a bit. That’s exactly what I did with the ensemble I put together to wear out with my coworkers to dinner!
Restaurant Week Jamaica kicked off over the weekend and myself along with my coworkers from Remax Elite dined at Marguerites Seafood by the Sea. A 5-star restaurant located on the famous Hip Strip of Montego Bay that allows guests to enjoy a fine dining experience on the edge of the Caribbean Sea. Sounds fancy right? Expensive too right? Yes indeed but that’s the beauty of Restaurant Week. Us regular folk are finally able to afford a meal at some of the city’s most expensive and classic restaurants.
Since Marguerites happens to be at the top of the list for fine dining in Montego Bay, we decided it would be the perfect place for us to unwind after a hectic work week, indulge in a very fancy 3 course meal and get a taste of Marguerites ambiance as a team. We shared several moments of laughter over meals that were creatively prepared and tasted great too. Had a few glasses of red wine and made toasts for working with an amazing team. It was an amazing night that will live in our memories for years to come.
RIGHT! Back to the recycled outfit I wore to dinner. Individually you may remember seeing some of these pieces in past posts (HERE & HERE). But this time around I took some of these same pieces and paired them all together, creating a brand new look. By the way all these pieces are over 5 years old!!!
Since it is ‘Fall’ I wanted to put together another Fall inspired look. I think in most places it’s safe to say it’s turtleneck season, so I pulled out my ‘thin’, shortsleeve turtleneck out from my closet first. Emphasis on the word ‘thin’ because it’s way too warm to wear anything thick. Another amazing thing about this time of year is the slightly cooler temperatures allowing us to layer. As much as I’d love to layer heavily it’s way too hot in Jamaica for that so I layered my denim bustier over my turtleneck blouse. Lastly I paired my upper half with a skort that used to belong to my mom (it’s even older than I am!) and slipped into my cognac heels before stepping out the door.
These are all pretty basic pieces but by pairing these ‘oldies but goodies’ together created a street-style-snap-worthy look! How do you like to repeat your clothing? Let me know in the comments below. Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥
