Fall is nowhere in sight and I’m losing my mind because I want to layer, wear boots and cozy sweaters too. Luckily for me I don’t mind pretending it’s Fall either. So even though the summer sun is still shining, my mind is all set for Fall—& so are my outfits (well kind of).
One of the easiest ways for us folk still seeing that summer weather is to opt for moody, fall, florals. We think of spring and summer when we see flowers in bloom but you can choose a floral piece adorned with Fall colors and make it work too. So although the weather here in the tropics forever feels like summer, this floral dress is the prefect transitional piece. It’s a lightweight dress making it perfect to wear in the heat but the moody colors make it fall appropriate. If you happen to be living somewhere already experiencing cooler weather, you can easily pair your dress with a pair of opaque tights and booties.
I get a little overly excited when I find a great fall floral piece! I found this dress in Forever 21 over 5 years ago. YES 5! While leaving the changing room the woman in front to me put back this little floral number on the rack! SCORE! I picked it up and made my way straight to the cashier! Fast forward 5 years later and my little floral dress is still in mint condition. Minus one little problem…somehow I remember this dress being just a tad bit longer.
I wore this dress out on a lunch date with Manny and the entire time he kept making fun of my ‘dress’ and calling it a ‘top’. Luckily I played it safe by wearing my black denim short-shorts underneath. Just incase a huge gust of wind came my way, my shorts would save me from showing the world my ‘lady parts’. I must admit, I did feel a little self conscious wearing this once we were actually on our way to lunch. By this time I realized it was too late to swap my shorts for pair of pants. Thankfully I layered my dress on top of a black high-neck blouse which helped to balance out all the leg action I was serving. One things, for sure…I am now calling my ‘dress’ a ‘top’ from now on and I’ll be wearing it with pants the next time around, haha!
Hope y’all are having a great start to the week! Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥ [BTW I snuck a pic of Manny when he wasn’t paying attention. The best way to get any pic of him is to get him off guard. If not he gets camera shy and gets really awkward. I got him real good too, whew.]
