REVIEW ¦ Creme of Nature Argan Oil Intensive Conditioning Treatment

cream of nature

I recently tried out the Creme of Nature Professional Argan Oil Intensive Conditioning Treatment It’s main claims are to strengthen, impart moisture and prevent hair breakage, do I think this statement is true…partly. On to the review…shall we?

As usual the first thing I do when I get a new product is to head straight to the ingredient section, and for such an inexpensive treatment it surprised me to see some pretty good ingredients like, honey, argan oil, olive oil and aloe. However, what I also noticed was the presence of proteins. Although far down on the list if you happen to be protein sensitive this treatment may not be for you. As for me my hair is okay with protein so after thoroughly wetting my hair I pulled the packet open and started applying.

If you’ve ever tried any other product from this particular line then you would be very familiar with this scent. I find the scent to be quite pleasant, slightly sweet but definitely not overpowering and once rinsed out there is no lingering smell. I also liked the consistency of the product, not overly thick yet not too runny.

Whenever I am trying out a new conditioner I always look out for a few basic things, instant smoothness and slip to my hair and long lasting softness. Initially once applied throughout my hair I noticed instantly how smooth my hair became and how much slip there was. I had no intentions of  undergoing a thorough detangling session, but after realizing how easy it was to section my hair I grabbed my wide tooth comb and I detangled. Think friction-free, painless, two things that we all love when detangling. I liked the way my hair felt after the product was rinsed out; soft to the touch, but in terms of feeling moisturized I don’t know about that. You see my love lies with Shea Moisture and Giovanni products and when I rinse out those conditioners my hair feels like I could go porduct-less for days because of how moisturized it feels. So I don’t think it’s a great moisturizing conditioner (at least for me it’s not), but I do think it makes an amazing detangler. I actually plan on purchasing a few more packets of this to keep in my cabinet for those emergency days when my hair is a tangled mess.

So would I purchase this products again? Yes, but not for deep conditioner purposes, for the sole purpose of detangling my hair.

Interesting. That was another product I was considering but opted for the Argan oil in the end. Glad I chose what I did!

So this DC is protein based and is mild protein based?

hey love, it contains hydrolyzed wheat protein as one of the ingredients. Although this protein is great for strengthening hair, if your hair is protein sensitive it may not be the best product for the hair. I have a girlfriend who used this product with hopes of it working amazingly with her hair but instead it felt brittle, stringy and straw like, which is more than likely because the product does contain a protein (I say mild because of how far down in the ingredient list it falls).
