Hey StyleLeeders! Happy Monday! I still remember how excited I was when I received the invitation to my first Collection Moda Runway Show. Fast forward to a year later and my excitement level is just as much as that first time. Except this year I wasn’t just invited, I was also featured in their yearly Moda Magazine! Every time I skim through the pages of the Moda Mag and stumble on my 3 page spread I still have pinch me moments. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity and hopefully one day I’ll make it on a cover! One Day… A few days have gone by since the Moda Runway Show and I’ve had a bit of time to reminisce on my second experience. All in all the show was good. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either. I think after attending last year I set my expectations for this years show pretty high and as a result I did not get what I hoped to see. Somehow I was just expecting more and was waiting for that ‘Ah hah’ moment, but unfortunately it did not come. Instead the models left the stage and I assumed we were moving into intermission as a video clip started to play on the screens. Fast forward to 10 minutes later and the M.C. was making an announcement that the show was over. Womp, Womp!
Don’t get me wrong, the show was actually pretty exciting. From the production, the performances and the decor, I applaud the Moda team for constantly changing things up each year because it left me feeling as though I was attending for the very first time again. I just happened to be expecting more. But, in all honesty I think reuniting with my fellow blogger pals and seeing their outfits was what really stole the show for me. I actually feel like they should have been the ones strutting down the Moda Catwalk. They were sleek, edgy, cool, powerful and had lots of attitude! It’s always great to be reunited with my friends. We all follow each other on social media and talk daily through the ‘gram’ but to see each other in person is always a treat because it does not happen as often as I would like. I sat next to blogging maven Rashade St. Patrick of Kingston Belle and realized just how blessed I was to have such an influential person in the industry sitting with me. We shared countless laughs, ‘ooohed & ahhed’ together and threw a little shade here and there if there happened to be a collection that didn’t scream pick me, pick me!
After the show we somehow all found our way to one another and we talked like we were old friends. Taking tons of photos, hanging out and catching up while sipping on wine and Campari Rum cocktails. I can’t wait for another occasion to bring us back together! When choosing what to wear, I opted for something seductive this year in a BadGalRiri inspired outfit. I wore a gorgeous draped, mustard, satin dress from Misguided. With a dynamic neckline and a high slit to flaunt just a bit of leg my outfit was definitely pretty risqué. I completed my outfit with a pair of minimalist black heels from Ted Baker to polish off my ensemble and a bold red lip for an edgy, high-fashion look. Collection Moda was just as eventful and full of surprises as it was last year! I’m so lucky to be able to attend and also be featured in their Magazine! I can’t wait to see what Kerry & the Moda team have in store for us in 2017! Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥
