Hey Loves! So this morning I woke up to the sound of my phone dinging and ringing. It was telling me that my little birthday vacation was almost over and my heart sank a little. On Monday (Sept. 26th) I turned 26 years old and as the clock hit midnight my phone started dinging off. This time that dinging noise made me realize I just turned 26. My best friends were sending me messages via ‘Whats App’ screaming HAPPY BIRTHDAY! My first birthday wisher was obviously Manny, who made certain to tell me way ahead of time just to beat the rush of my ‘birthday wisher besties’, haha!
Well…my 26th year of life has officially begun and there’s a bitter but sweet feeling attached. That bitterness has nothing to do with me getting older because I think that’s actually the sweet part. But Manny and I are currently long distance…very bitter feeling.
My birthday celebrations came and left so quickly and now I’m sitting here writing this feeling nothing but sadness because I’ll be leaving to go back to Jamaica in a few days. I know we’ll be back together in no time but the feeling of leaving someone who means the world to you hurts way more than it really should. Nonetheless, we know how to make it work and it will.
Now…my about my day and my outfit…that’s why you’re here right? (or wrong, tell me below).
As a child my parents would take me on long car rides every weekend. Ever since then I have always found car rides to be so fulfilling. Sadly I don’t do it as much now but thanks to Manny we did exactly that on my birthday.
After blowing out the candles from my Krispy Kreme Doughnut (check it out here), we hopped in the car and drove for hours around South Florida. We had no concrete plan set nor a final destination but if we saw a sight we liked we would pull over and check it out. When passing through a quaint area, we would hop out and walk a little to see if there was anything extraordinary about the place. We caught up on things we haven’t spoken about in ages, including when we first met.
It’s not everyday you can actually have a conversation without the annoying dinging and buzzing from a cellphone so my birthday car drive was absolute bliss. I’ve always felt there is just something special about a long car drive with another person. Somehow it almost always bring you a lot closer to the person also present in the vehicle. For every time Manny and I go on one of our long car drives, we always exerpeince a whole new side of love. The best part? I didn’t want to kill him once on our awesome drive out lol. I guess that’s a surefire sign that we really are meant for each other. Haha, he’s a keeper!
So it was almost the end of the day and I only realized then that I did not take one photo in my lil’ birthday get-up. Gasp!!! To make matters worst we were in a rush to get home to head out again that night. Well while on our way home I just told Manny to pull over into the next Publix parking lot and I’d snap a few pics there. YES PUBLIX SUPERMARKET! At the very next supermarket we saw we turned in. We drove around back since the front parking lot had way too many cars. As we made the bend around the corner to the back of the supermarket, there we saw a beautiful creeping vine climbing up the side of the Publix wall. Picture Perfect!
I wore a flirty, backless, striped, skater dress by DTS Designs on my birthday and paired it with a pair of black mules by Ted Baker. I was really feeling cute and girly the morning of my birthday so I went with a ballerina, top-knot bun and a bold red lip to finish off my look.
Thank you again for all the birthday wishes. As always…Talk Soon. Nuff Love, Natasha ♥
[If you want to see more pics of Manny tell him below. He’s camera shy but this way I’ll have an angle to convince him lol]
