Hey StyleLeeders! The past week has been pure insanity [have you been following along on Snapchat? Great, then you know what I’ve been up to. If not, then what are you waiting on? SN: natashaleeds]. From working all day at an Expo, to attending several events, while finding time to play host of a Pot Luck held at my home over the weekend. Yes I’ve been quite busy. Now lets start with the outfit I wore to the Expo.
I happen to be a Realtor with RE/MAX Elite (@realestatejamaica) and last week Friday my team and I partnered up with Scotiabank to hold a Real Estate and Mortgage Expo to share our knowledge of wealth of the current Real Estate market in Jamaica. Well, you know those days when you know you have to be up early for a long and busy day of work, but you never planned what to wear ahead of time and somehow manage to wake up late? Yeah well that’s exactly what happened to me the morning of the Expo. I had no time to coordinate colors because I was in such a rush, so I played it safe and pulled for a classic all white outfit (well mostly white).
While a mostly white ensemble wouldn’t exactly be most people’s first choice for a day working at an outdoor event—especially when you don’t want to deal with the hassle of removing stains, I still decided to wear an all white outfit to help lighten up what would be a very intense day. Yes, I could have gone with an all black outfit, but it was already scorching hot when I woke up that morning and I had no intentions of melting in the sun that day. So an all black outfit just wasn’t an option…’ain’t nobody got time for that.’
I wanted to be comfortable so I went with white denim pants but I paired it with a white button down shirt to help make my outfit look more sophisticated and bit more office appropriate (depending on where you work of course). If you want to look cool and polished then a minimalistic outfit is the way to go. I just love how a white ensemble can make an outfit stand out without the fuss of having to accessorize. BUT…if you wish to step your look up just a notch then incorporate a statement piece to help showcase the clean, white outlines of your outfit. I wore my shoes as the statement piece with my outfit to help draw peoples attention at the Expo while also livening up my look.
So, can we talk about these heels now? Classic, black, strappy heels—I’m pretty sure I died and went to shoe heaven when I received these babies from ShoeTeaseJA. It was one of those love and first site moments and I’m already professing that these will definitely be a summer a favorite of mine because I’ve already worn these heels several times and I only got them 2 weeks ago.The black, strappy heels helped to break the monotony of my all white outfit and it sure was a conversation starter at the expo (I think I sold these heels more than a home last week Friday hahaa).
